“I Wasn’t Sure He Was Coming Back”: Internet Has A Field Day With Recent Video Of Biden Pausing, Looking Blank [WATCH]
Responding to a clip that took off on X in which Biden was asked a question and stared blankly for a long time, commenters had a field day poking fun at the president. The video and comments came as more and more questions about President Joe Biden’s mental acuity are being raised, particularly given his frequent gaffes and falls.
The questions were also renewed by Special Counsel Robert Hur’s report on Biden. In the report, Hur indicated the elderly president’s age is something of a problem for him, particularly as regards his mental fitness for the job. At one point in that report, for instance, special counsel Hur said, “We have also considered that, at trial, Mr. Biden would likely present himself to a jury, as he did during our interview of him, as a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory . . . It would be difficult to convince a jury that they should convict him—by then a former president well into his eighties of a serious felony that requires a mental state of willfulness.”
Another part of it provided, “In his interview with our office, Mr. Biden’s memory was worse. He did not remember when he was vice president, forgetting on the first day of the interview when his term ended (“if it was 2013 – when did I stop being Vice President?”), and forgetting on the second day of the interview when his term began (“in 2009, am I still Vice President?”), He did not remember, even within several years, when his son Beau died. And his memory appeared hazy when describing the Afghanistan debate that was once so important to him.”
In any case, the recent video showed Biden staring blankly while listening to someone who was speaking to him. In the short clip, the person was saying, “I’ve been trying to catch up with you, and I think that probably the vice president, but whatever you’re out there want to call me because I feel like I don’t know I got your back.” It’s unclear what that meant.
In any case, the video of Biden staring blankly as the man made those remarks took off, with an account called “Big Fish” posting it and joking, “They’re not going to let Joe debate anyone.” Responding, one commenter said, “Joe the Pause is hard to watch , pathetic for the country. lost , confused and delusional.”
Others chimed in with remarks like, “Lmfao he checked out😂😂,” “You know they aren’t going to let him debate, they barely let him leave the White House,” and “To me, the look on his face is ‘Where’s my ice cream?’” Still another added, “Wow, the dude is just gone…”

Another account tweeting it out, the very large “ALX” account, wrote, “Bro is checked out.” Chiming in, commenters cracked jokes like, “Bro has been checked out for a long time,” “He hasn’t been checked in yet 🤷🏼♂️,” “This just needs the windows power down sound added to it,” and “He thinking, who da fk is this guy and what the hell is he talking about. I want a ice cream.” Another added, “I wasn’t sure he was coming back!”
