Kevin O’Leary Says Harris Will Harm U.S. Like Trudeau Did to Canada

“Shark Tank” star and investment adviser Kevin O’Leary has warned that if Vice President Kamala Harris is elected president, she will become America’s version of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, whom he describes Trudeau as an uber-leftist who has overseen a stunning decline in Canada’s status and economy.

O’Leary made these remarks during an interview on NewsNation last week, describing Harris as the “it kid” but criticized her for being a “blank sheet of paper” on policy positions despite her previously holding several extreme left-wing views during her unsuccessful 2020 presidential campaign.

“I don’t blame her for not bringing up policy. She should just rant and rave, saying ‘I’m not Trump’ until August 7 because she’s raising so much money,” he said. “But then, she’s got to talk policy, and I don’t know what that looks like, and nobody does because she’s like a blank sheet of paper.”

The last “it kid” in Western policies, he said, was Trudeau.

“There’s an example of an ‘it kid’ up in Canada a few years ago, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau,” he said. “Nobody looked at his background. Nobody looked at his policies. He was the ‘it kid.’ That country is on its knees! He wiped it out!”

“Are Americans basically going to hire or basically bring a president that’s another Justin Trudeau?” he asked. “I hope not.”

Shortly after taking office, President Joe Biden referred to his as the “Biden-Harris administration,” highlighting Harris’s integral role in his White House. Critics argue that, given her prominent position, she must take responsibility for the policies that have resulted in high inflation and interest rates, rising food and gasoline prices, a chaotic southwestern border, and concerns about a potential recession.

To wit, the unemployment rate unexpectedly rose to its highest level in over three years last week, as U.S. job creation sharply declined in July.

According to Labor Department data released earlier this month, employers added 114,000 jobs in July, falling well short of the 175,000 gain forecast by LSEG economists. In addition, the jobless rate unexpectedly increased to 4.3% from 4.1%, despite predictions that it would remain stable.

“It marked the highest level for the jobless rate since October 2021,” Fox Business reported.

“Temperatures might be hot around the country, but there’s no summer heatwave for the job market,” said ManpowerGroup North America president Becky Frankiewicz. “With across-the-board cooling, we have lost most of the gains we saw from the first quarter of the year.”

So far, Harris has kept a low profile when it comes to interviews with the press. Also, she has only agreed to do one debate with former President Trump, which would further limit her exposure and the potential for a trademark embarrassing gaffe that could hurt her campaign.

“I think it’s very important to have debates, and we’ve agreed with Fox on a date of September 4. We’ve agreed with NBC. Fairly full agreement subject to them on September 10. And we’ve agreed with ABC on September 25,” the former president said during a press event.
