Woman Says She Was Denied Service At Grocery Store Because Of Her Shirt

A Texas woman, identified as Meredith, faced refusal of service at a local Kroger store due to her “Police Lives Matter” shirt. She expressed her discomfort, stating, “She made me feel ashamed to have the shirt on and I don’t appreciate that.” The cashier walked away and confided in a coworker about her emotions regarding the shirt.

Meredith clarified that she wore the shirt because her husband is a police officer and did not intend to offend anyone. Despite multiple complaints to the store, she has not received a response.

Meredith emphasized the importance of allowing everyone to freely express themselves, regardless of their attire, whether it’s a “Black Lives Matter” shirt or otherwise.

Kimberly Colley, executive director of the Blue Bow Foundation, expressed shock at Kroger’s lack of response. She supports police officers and their families, highlighting the risks they face daily.

Readers on social media had mixed reactions, with some calling for the cashier’s firing and others advocating for a store boycott if the situation isn’t addressed.
