“Elvis wanted to marry me, but I refused!”

“Elvis proposed marriage to me, but I turned him down!” The celebrity was involved in an intense affair with the well-known artist.

Even though he was seeing Priscilla Beaulieu at the time, Elvis Presley had a romantic involvement with his Blue Hawaii companion in 1961 and had intentions of marrying her.

If you look at Joan Blackman as she appeared in 1961, you can get the impression that you are seeing Priscilla. Both of them have dark hair and facial characteristics that are identical. It would appear that Elvis was so captivated by her when they first met in Hollywood in 1958, just prior to him beginning his service in the military, that he followed her about and pleaded with her to star in his movies multiple times. In the end, she was successful.

Joan was quoted as saying, “There was a spark, magic in the air, when we first lay eyes on one other (in 1957)…. There was only that one particular thing between us, and there were times when it was so amazing and warm that you could almost reach out and touch it.

She insisted that she had turned down his numerous offers to assist her in her professional endeavors, stating, “I wanted parts because of my ability, not because I was dating Elvis.”

She explained, “In the hotel, we had rooms that were right next to each other, and for the next few weeks, we did nothing but live together.”

“He sincerely desired to have me as his wife.”

“At the time, I had feelings for another actor named Hampton Fancher III. Elvis was aware of the situation. I would tell him, “I love him, El,” whenever he asked me about Hampton at the time. I adore him the way a woman loves a man with whom she hopes to spend the rest of her life.

“I never once lied to Elvis about Hampton or about anything else,” the statement begins.
